Miso Skillet Green Beans

in

Miso skillet green beans, a flavorful and light side dish that is ready in twenty minutes. The green beans are placed directly in the pan raw, without boiling them first. They are browned in oil, then chopped garlic is added and after a few minutes they are flavored with a mix of miso, soy sauce and honey. A side dish with an Asian touch that goes well with both meat and fish.

  • Heat a skillet with the vegetable oil and add the green beans. Sauté for a few minutes over high heat, stirring occasionally. Then add the garlic, sauté for another minute, add 2–3 tablespoons of water and cover with a lid. Cook for a couple of minutes, just long enough to soften the green beans a bit. If needed, add a little more water.

At this point add the miso and soy sauce mixture, stir for one minute over high heat and remove the green beans from the heat. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
