Fresh, refreshing, and with an exotic taste. Passion fruit iced tea, with a green tea base, is a tasty ally on hot days! Moreover, it’s very eye-catching to serve! The great thing is that you can adjust it to your taste, for example, you can add more or less sugar, or substitute lemons with oranges. If you’re not a fan of green tea, you can also use black tea to prepare this refreshing drink!

- Difficulty: Easy

- Portions: approx. 1 quart
- Cooking methods: Stovetop
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Spring, Summer
Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 4 bags green tea
- 6 tbsp sugar
- 2 lemons
- 5 passion fruits
- mint (optional for serving)
Steps
To prepare the passion fruit iced tea, bring the water to a boil in a saucepan, then remove from heat and immerse the green tea bags. Let steep for 10 minutes, then remove the tea bags, squeezing them well, and add the sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and set aside to cool. Ideally also in the fridge.
When the green tea has cooled, squeeze the juice of one lemon and pour it into the tea. Cut 4 passion fruits in half and add their pulp to the green tea. Mix well.
Wash and dry the second lemon and cut it into thin slices. Serve your passion fruit iced tea by pouring it into glasses and adding a few lemon slices, a few mint sprigs, and a wedge of passion fruit to each.
