Just a few ingredients are needed for a truly surprising result. This tart is perfect for breakfast or a tasty snack.
But do you know what my favorite moment is? Eating it in the evening after dinner, with my family. It’s the best way to pamper ourselves a bit after a hectic day.
So, will you join me? Let’s start baking right away!
Happy cooking, Giusi.

Ingredients for the Apple and Cinnamon Tart
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole cane sugar (or granulated)
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Cinnamon (to taste)
- 3 Apples
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 lemon (Juice + zest)
- to taste Cinnamon
Steps for the Apple and Cinnamon Tart
First, peel the apples and cut them into small pieces.
Place them in a bowl and mix them with the sugar, lemon juice and zest, and cinnamon.
Transfer the mixture to a pan and cook over low heat for about 10 minutes.
When the apples are ready (they should soften slightly), remove them from the heat and set them aside to cool.
In a bowl, work the sugar with the yogurt and then add the oil.
Start adding the flour little by little and, lastly, the baking powder.
Work the mixture until you form a soft and homogeneous dough.
Roll out the shortcrust pastry and lay it inside a buttered and floured pan. (I used a rectangular mold, but a round one of 9-10 inches in diameter is also fine).Pour the now-cold apple filling inside.
With the leftover shortcrust pastry, create strips and lay them over the filling, forming the classic grid.
Bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for about 35 minutes.
Once baked, let the tart cool completely inside the pan. This way it will firm up perfectly.
Your Apple and Cinnamon Tart is ready to be enjoyed!
