Baciati Cookies

Soft and delicious. The baciati cookies are very beautiful to look at and very good to eat. They are very simple to prepare, made with a soft shortcrust pastry and a tasty filling, I opted for apricot jam and a spreadable hazelnut cream and finally decorated with chopped hazelnuts. Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tsp baking powder

Steps

  • In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and powdered sugar.
    Add the lukewarm milk slowly, a pinch of salt, and then the oil, at this point also add the egg.
    Start kneading with your hands, place the dough on a floured surface and work it until you create a soft and homogeneous dough.

    Roll out the dough obtained on a floured surface and make discs with the help of a glass or a mold.

    Place hazelnut cream or jam in the center, spread with the help of a spoon, and fold the cookie over itself.

    Bake at 356 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.

  • Remove the cookies from the oven, the filling will slightly come out.

    Let cool for a minute and when they are still warm, with the help of a spoon, level the hazelnut cream or jam that came out during cooking and roll the cookie in the chopped nuts, pressing slightly. (This operation should be done when the cookie is still warm because otherwise the nuts do not stick).
