Ingredients for Chicken Wings in Sauce
- 1.75 lbs chicken wings (About 16 juicy wings)
- 2 cups tomato puree
- Half onion
- to taste salt
- to taste oil
- Tabasco (A few drops)
Steps for Chicken Wings in Sauce
Take a high-sided pan, pour in a bit of oil with the chopped onion and sauté for 2/3 minutes. At this point, add the chicken wings and brown them over medium heat for 5 minutes. Pour in the white wine, let it evaporate, add the tomato puree, salt, and Tabasco (or chili pepper). Stir, cover with a lid and cook for 30 minutes over low heat; during the last 5 minutes, remove the lid and increase the heat.
The hardest part at this point will be resisting the temptation to finish this tasty dish right away. But if there’s any leftover, here’s how to best store your chicken wings in sauce.
Storage
Once the wings have completely cooled, transfer them to an airtight container and store them in the refrigerator. They keep perfectly for 2/3 days.
You can conveniently reheat them in a pan or microwave, adding a tablespoon of water if the sauce has thickened too much.
This dish is excellent for freezing. Transfer the wings with their sauce to a freezer-safe airtight container. They keep for about 2/3 months. Thaw them the day before in the refrigerator before reheating.
