Cocoa Cookies

Cocoa cookies are simple and delicious shortbread cookies perfect to enjoy for breakfast or any time of the day. In their simplicity, they are always highly appreciated. Made with a short crust without butter. The strong flavor of cocoa makes these cookies delightful; once tried, you won’t be able to resist them. Quick and tasty. The preparation of these treats is so easy that we can also involve children, as I did with my nephew.

  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Cooking time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 30 small cookies
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • hazelnuts (For decoration)

Steps

  • Using a fork, beat the eggs with the sugar, add the oil and mix. Add cocoa and baking powder, then gradually add the flour. The dough should be soft, not sticky, and compact; add more flour if necessary.

  • Take small pieces of dough and form balls, place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, and put a hazelnut in the center, pressing lightly. Bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for 12-15 minutes. Cocoa cookies are ready to be enjoyed.
