Ingredients for the delicious cake

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup orange marmalade
- 3.5 oz dark chocolate
Steps for the delicious cake
With the help of electric beaters, beat the eggs for 5 minutes and then start adding the sugar in several batches, beating for another 3 minutes.
Once we have obtained our fluffy and voluminous mixture, start adding the flour working with a spatula from bottom to top.
Also add the unsweetened cocoa powder and baking powder, it is important to always work gently with a spatula or a manual whisk from bottom to top.
Butter and flour or line a pan with parchment paper and pour the creamy mixture inside.
Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes , after this time perform the toothpick test; if it comes out dry, it’s ready, otherwise, extend the cooking time by 5 minutes. Let the chocolate cake cool completely inside the pan.
After this time, cut the cake in half with the help of a serrated knife. I made a syrup of water and sugar and moistened the discs. Spread the marmalade, level well and cover with the other disc.
Melt the chocolate bar in a bain-marie or in the microwave and once melted pour over the chocolate cake, spread well with the help of a spoon.
The chocolate coating solidifies after 10 minutes. If you want to eat it while it’s soft, I recommend glazing just a few minutes before serving.

For a good result, it is important that the eggs are at room temperature; if you keep them in the fridge, just place them in a bowl with warm water for a few minutes.
It is important to always sift the flour and powders so as not to create lumps and affect the good outcome of the dessert.
