Meatballs and Potatoes Stew

Here I am with my beloved meatballs. I don’t know about you, but I love them in all ways. The recipe I’m sharing with you today is a great alternative to the classic fried or sauced meatballs. They are just as tasty but lighter because they are stewed. The stewed meatballs with potatoes are a delicious main course, especially ideal on cold days. A very simple recipe with truly exceptional results. In just a few moves we will bring to the table a main course with a side dish that everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 9 oz Ground Veal
  • 4 tablespoons Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • to taste Salt
  • 5 Potatoes (around 1.5 lbs)
  • 2 cups Water (Warm (about 2 glasses))

Steps

  • Prepare the meatball mixture by placing the ground meat, parsley, egg, salt, and 3/4 tablespoons of breadcrumbs into a bowl. Mix well with your hands until all ingredients are combined.

    Peel the potatoes and cut them into not too large pieces.

    Take a high-sided pan and pour in a little oil, add the potatoes and sauté for a few minutes.

    In the meantime, prepare the meatballs and gradually add them to the pan, add the two glasses of warm water and salt.

    Cook the meatballs and potatoes stew for about 30 minutes (until the potatoes are tender).

Tips

You can dissolve a teaspoon of tomato paste in the water before pouring it into the pan.

To make this dish even richer, add sliced onions and peas along with the potatoes.
