Ingredients for Orange Crinkle Cookies
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (+ extra for coating)
- 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil (or vegetable oil)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- as needed powdered sugar (for final coating)
Steps for Orange Crinkle Cookies
In a bowl, mix the sugar with the eggs. Then, add the oil and orange juice.
If the zest is edible, grate it and add it to the dough.
Add the flour and the teaspoon of baking powder (previously sifted).
Knead until you get a homogeneous dough.
Prepare the balls: take small pieces of dough (about 1 oz each) and form the balls.
Only after creating all, quickly pass them in powdered sugar. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
It’s important to pass the balls in granulated sugar and then in powdered sugar only at the end, after they have all been prepared. This way, the sugar won’t be absorbed immediately, and you’ll have a better effect!
Bake at 350°F in a preheated static oven for 20 minutes.
Once baked and cooled, the crinkle cookies are ready to be enjoyed.
