Ingredients for the Pear and Chocolate Cake

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs (at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk (Warm)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 Abate pears

Tools

  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Hand Whisk
  • 1 Pan

Preparation of the Pear and Chocolate Cake

  • Inside a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar using a hand whisk.

Incorporate the milk and vegetable oil.
Sift together the flour and baking powder and add them to the batter, mixing until a smooth and homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Pour the batter into a pan lined with parchment paper (round, 9-10 inches or like mine 8×8 inches).
Peel the pears, slice them thinly, and arrange them on the surface. Add two tablespoons of hazelnut spread or chocolate shavings.

  • Bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for 40 minutes.
From the 35th minute, do the toothpick test in the center… if it comes out dry, the pear and chocolate cake is ready; otherwise, extend the baking by 5 minutes.

  • Remove from the oven and let the cake cool completely inside the pan before removing and serving.
