The red pizza with onions is too good, a true classic that never gets old. The inside is very soft, almost like a fluffy focaccia, while a perfect crust forms on the surface and along the edges. The combination of tomato sauce and onions makes it incredibly tasty and irresistible. You must try it, you won’t regret it. Come with me, let’s start getting messy right away.

Ingredients for the red pizza with onions
For this preparation, I used Nuvola type 0 flour (Caputo brand), which makes the dough wonderful. You can do as I wrote below.
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups g Manitoba
- 1 cup ml Water
- 1 tbsp g extra virgin olive oil
- 0.25 oz g dry yeast
- 1.5 tsp g salt
- 3 red onion
- 6 tbsp tomato sauce
- to taste pitted black olives
Steps for the red pizza with onions
You can knead by hand or with a mixer.
Inside the bowl mix the flours, also add the yeast and the oil. Gradually add the water, oil, and finally the salt.
Knead all ingredients well until a homogeneous dough is formed.
Once ready, put the dough into an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise for about 3 hours away from drafts (I do this in the oven with the light on).Meanwhile, slice the onions and place them in a pan with oil; cook for two minutes, then add the tomato sauce, salt, and cook for 10 minutes.
After the rising time, place the dough in a rectangular baking pan (8×12 inches) and spread it out well with your hands. Let it rest for another 30 minutes.
After the resting time, spread the cooked onions with the tomato sauce over the pizza and distribute evenly. Bake the pizza in a preheated static oven at 430°F for 20 minutes.
The focaccia with onions is ready to be enjoyed.
