The red pizza with onions is too good. The inside is very soft, almost like a soft focaccia, and a perfect crust forms on the surface along the edges. The tomato sauce and onions make it tasty and irresistible. You absolutely have to try it; you won’t regret it.
Come with me and let’s start baking right away.

Ingredients
For this preparation I used Nuvola type 0 flour (Caputo brand) which makes wonderful doughs. You can do as I wrote below
- 250 all-purpose flour
- 250 g Manitoba flour
- 1 cup Water
- 1.5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2.5 tsp instant yeast
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 3 red onion
- 6 tbsp tomato sauce
- to taste pitted black olives
Steps
You can knead by hand or with a mixer.
Inside the bowl, mix the flours, also pour in the yeast, the oil.
Gradually add the water, the oil, and finally the salt.
Knead well all the ingredients until a homogeneous dough is formed.
Once ready, put the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise for about 3 hours away from drafts (I use the oven with the light on).
Slice the onions and place them in a pan with oil and cook for two minutes, also add the tomato sauce, salt, and cook for 10 minutes.
After the rising time, place the dough in a rectangular pan (8×12 inches) and distribute the dough by pressing it with your hands.
Let rest for another about 30 minutes. After the resting time, place the cooked onions with the tomato sauce on top of the pizza and distribute evenly.
Bake the pizza in a preheated static oven at 430°F for 20 minutes.
The focaccia with onions is ready to be enjoyed.
