Ingredients for Soft Cocoa and Orange Cake

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 7 oz orange marmalade

Steps for Soft Cocoa and Orange Cake

  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs using a whisk.
    Add the liquid cream and mix well to combine.
    Gradually incorporate the flour, sugar, baking powder, and unsweetened cocoa.
    Mix vigorously until a homogeneous dough is obtained. The dough will be very solid.

    Line a cake pan with parchment paper.
    Pour about half of the dough onto the bottom of the pan and smooth it out.

    Evenly spread the orange marmalade over the dough, avoiding contact with the edges.
    Cover the marmalade with the remaining dough.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 35-40 minutes.
    To check if it’s done, insert a toothpick into the center of the cake. If it comes out dry, the cake is ready.

  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely before removing it from the pan.

    Flip the cake onto a cutting board or serving plate.
    If you like, decorate the top of the cake with melted white chocolate (you can drizzle it or create a thin layer) for a visual contrast and an even more delicious taste.
