Super soft and tasty rolls, to be filled to your liking. I used cooked ham and provola cheese.
Really simple to make. They will win you over at the first bite.
Let’s start cooking…
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Portions: 8 pieces
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 4 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 5 tbsp vegetable oil (Or olive oil)
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp dry yeast (12 g of fresh yeast)
- 4 oz cooked ham
- 8 slices provola cheese
Steps
dissolve the yeast in warm milk
➡️ in a bowl add the flour, egg, and oil
➡️ start mixing with a fork, gradually add the milk with the yeast and knead
➡️ once you have finished with the milk, also add the salt
➡️ pour the dough onto a pastry board and knead it for a few minutes
➡️ the dough should be soft but well compact
➡️ place the dough in a floured bowl
➡️ let it rise for at least 5 hours (I usually knead in the morning and then use it in the evening)
once this time has passed,
on a lightly floured pastry board or directly on parchment paper, roll out the dough and form a rectangle
➡️ I used my hands, if you find it more convenient, use a rolling pin
➡️ once the rectangle is created, I cut out small rectangles with a pizza cutter or knife
➡️ I made 8 rectangles
➡️ in each rectangle I placed a slice of ham and provola cheese in the center
roll each rectangle tightly
➡️ cover with plastic wrap and let rise for another 30 minutes
➡️ after 30 minutes brush the surface with an egg yolk and a little milk
➡️ bake in a static oven at 350°F for 30 minutes and
another 5 minutes in a ventilated oven
