Ingredients for Spoon Cookies with Pears and Chocolate

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 6 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 pear
  • 2 tbsp dark chocolate chips

Step-by-step Instructions for Spoon Cookies with Pears and Chocolate

  • Mix the egg with water and oil in a bowl. Add flour, baking powder, and sugar.

Blend the mixture well until all ingredients are combined. Add pear cubes and chocolate chips.

  • Using two spoons, scoop the batter and place it in small heaps, well apart from each other, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, creating circles.

Given the amount of batter, you’ll get about 15 cookies, so you might need to use two baking sheets and bake in two rounds. If baking two sheets simultaneously, after about 7 minutes, switch their positions (top to bottom and vice versa) to ensure even browning.

Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes or until golden.

  • The Spoon Cookies with Pears and Chocolate are ready to be enjoyed. I hope you liked this easy-peasy recipe.

Storage, Variations, and Tips

Store them in an airtight container (such as a tin box or a jar with a lid).

Keep them at room temperature and away from heat or humidity.

They remain soft for about 3-4 days. After this period, they are still good but might lose some of their softness.

If the weather is very hot or humid, and you notice that the pear makes the dough too moist after 48 hours, you can still move them to the refrigerator to prolong freshness, making sure to take them out half an hour before consuming.
