Stuffed Swirl Cookies, a Quick Recipe that Everyone Loves.
If you’re looking for a cookie that is incredibly soft, easy to make, and absolutely delicious, stop here!
These Swirl Cookies are the perfect answer to your craving for something sweet, ideal for breakfast, a snack, or a coffee break.
I used my oil-based pastry, a butter-free dough that doesn’t need to rest in the fridge, making the preparation super quick. It’s a light pastry, crumbly and soft, that rolls out in no time and stays soft even after baking. For the filling, you decide—a delicious cream (it could be pistachio cream or chocolate cream) that wraps gently in the dough. Come with me, let’s start baking right away.
Happy baking, Giusi.

Ingredients for the Swirl Cookies
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 3.5 tbsp vegetable oil
- 0.3 cup granulated sugar
- 0.25 cup milk
- 2 tsp baking powder
Steps
In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg well with the milk and oil.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and work the mixture until you get a smooth and soft dough. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour until it no longer sticks to your hands.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangular shape about 12 x 8 inches. Re-knead the leftover dough to make more swirls.
Spread your favorite cream over the entire surface (avoid jam, as it tends to ooze out during baking), leaving just a small border on one of the long sides.
Roll the dough onto itself, starting from the long side, so the roll is tight and compact. Seal the closure by slightly wetting the border with water.
Using a sharp serrated knife (to avoid crushing the roll), cut the swirls into slices about 0.8 inches thick.
Finally, place the swirls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. In a preheated static oven at 356°F, in the middle section, for 15 minutes.
Remove the swirls from the oven and, if desired, immediately brush them with a syrup (boiled water and sugar) to make them shiny, or let them cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
