Perfect for breakfast or a snack, the sweet buns similar to pangoccioli are incredibly soft. They can be made in no time at all.
They are a valid alternative to the classic leavened dough usually needed to prepare this kind of buns. I used baking powder so no resting time is needed, but I assure you the result is truly amazing. Come with me and let’s start baking.
Happy cooking, Giusi.

Ingredients
Important: Eggs and yogurt should be at room temperature. If you forgot to take them out of the fridge, just immerse the eggs in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes. For the yogurt, heat it in the microwave or in a saucepan for a few minutes.
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup Greek yogurt
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup sugar (I used whole cane sugar)
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp baking powder
Steps
In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar using a hand whisk or a fork. Add the oil and the yogurt.
Also add the previously sifted flour and baking powder, and finally the chopped chocolate, mixing well. The mixture will be very stiff.
With the help of a spoon, start creating mounds on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced apart, moisten your hands and round them to create balls.
Bake at 350°F in a static preheated oven for 20 minutes in the middle part of the oven.
The soft buns are ready to be enjoyed.
