Crispy and tasty.
I made this tart with my shortcrust pastry, it never disappoints me. This pastry is just the right amount of crumbly and melts in your mouth. I enriched this pastry with fig jam and sliced almonds.
Very simple to make.
Let’s start baking…
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 6
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 5 1/2 tbsp butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 10 1/2 oz fig jam
- sliced almonds (As needed)
Tools
This time I wanted to make a rectangular tart, I didn’t use any mold. I just put the pastry on parchment paper. But if you want, you can use a 8 to 9-inch diameter pan.
Steps
Work the butter with the powdered sugar until it forms a creamy mixture
add the egg, baking powder, flour and continue kneading (if necessary, add half a small glass of water to help with kneading)
transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface and knead until it forms a smooth dough, wrap it in film and put it in the fridge for 20 minutes
after this time, roll out the dough directly on parchment paper, I created a rectangle and trimmed the edges with a knife (to adjust the shape)
with a spoon, I placed the fig jam on top of the pastry, I decorated the tart with strips and braids that I placed on the sides (the dough was just enough for me, if you want to make fewer decorations and have leftover dough, make some simple cookies that turn out delicious)
I placed the sliced almonds on top
Bake in a preheated oven at 355°F for about 30 minutes
