Ingredients for the Two-tone Breakfast Cookies
To make these cookies, I used type 1 flour, but you can use any flour you prefer, just remember that each type absorbs differently. Therefore, it might be necessary to add more flour or a few tablespoons of water; this dough should have a very soft and homogeneous consistency.
- 2 1/4 cups Flour (+ 2 tbsps)
- 2/3 cup oz Granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsps oz vegetable oil
- 3 tbsps oz water
- 1 tbsp oz baking powder
- 1 tbsp oz Unsweetened cocoa powder
Steps for the Two-tone Breakfast Cookies
In a bowl, pour the oil, water, and sugar, and mix with a fork.
Add the egg and once combined, start adding the sifted flour with baking powder.
Once the dough is formed, divide it into two, add the 2 tbsps of flour to one part and 1 tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder to the other part, mixing the powders well to form the doughs.
With the two doughs, make logs of the same length, 16 inches, and approximately the same thickness. Place them next to each other and press the two parts to stick them together.
With a serrated knife, create cookies 0.8 inches wide, approximately 23 to 25 cookies in total.
Place the created cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for 13/15 minutes (check the bottom of a cookie after 13 minutes, if it looks golden enough, remove the tray) in the center of the oven.
If using a convection oven, the temperature should be 338°F for the same amount of time.
The two-tone breakfast cookies are ready to be enjoyed. See you at the next recipe.
