Ingredients for the Yogurt and Cocoa Cake
These ingredients are for a 9.5-inch diameter mold, you can also use a larger mold, it will be slightly lower but just as good.
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Steps for the Yogurt and Cocoa Cake
In a large bowl, beat the whole eggs with the sugar using a hand whisk for a few minutes until you obtain a light and frothy mixture.
Add the oil gradually, continuing to whisk to incorporate it completely.
Gradually add the yogurt one spoon at a time.
Finally, gradually and in stages, add the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa, and baking powder, previously sifted.
The batter will be very dense, so switch from the hand whisk to a spatula or spoon.
Line a 9.5-inch diameter mold with parchment paper. A little trick to make it adhere perfectly is to wet it and squeeze it well before placing it in the mold.
Pour the dense mixture into the mold and level it with the spatula.
Bake in a preheated static oven at 350 °F for about 30 minutes. The times may vary slightly depending on your oven.
To ensure that the cake is perfectly cooked, always do the toothpick test: insert it in the center of the cake and, if it comes out completely dry, you can take it out of the oven.
