Ingredients

  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups spelt flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup sunflower oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • to taste lemon flavor
  • to taste chocolate chips (for topping)

How to Prepare the Cake with Spelt Flour

  • In a bowl, add the baking powder, chocolate chips, sugar, and spelt flour. Stir with a spoon.

  • Add the eggs, oil, and milk. Stir with the spoon.

  • If you like, add a few drops of lemon flavor. Stir with the spoon.

  • Pour the mixture into a 10-inch tart pan, previously buttered and floured.

  • Add more chocolate chips on the surface.

  • Bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F. Let it cook for about 30 minutes. Please check the cooking times according to your oven.

Storage

The cake can be stored at room temperature, under a glass dome or in an airtight container, for 3-4 days.

    If you don’t have spelt flour, you can substitute it with all-purpose flour type 0 or 00. The final texture might vary slightly.

    You can use coarsely chopped chocolate, or chopped nuts like walnuts, almonds, or hazelnuts.
