Gratinated Tortellini in Air Fryer

Gratinated tortellini in air fryer or oven. A simple and quick first course to prepare.

A rich, tasty, and succulent first course.

Gratinated tortellini are perfect for Sunday lunch, but not only. Since it’s a hearty dish, you can prepare it as a single dish for everyday cooking.

For the preparation, I used ground meat, but you can also add other ingredients like peas or diced cooked ham. You can easily customize the dish according to your taste.

For cooking, you can use both the air fryer and the traditional oven. I will indicate how to do it in the post.

Ingredients

  • 7 oz mixed ground meat
  • 1 carrot
  • Half shallot
  • 14 oz tomato sauce
  • 9 oz tortellini
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • Half glass white wine
  • 9 oz béchamel sauce
  • 1 mozzarella
  • 1 oz Parmesan cheese

  • 1 Parchment paper

How to Prepare Gratinated Tortellini in Air Fryer

  • Start the preparation with the ragù. Inside a pot, add a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and the minced carrot and shallot. Let it lightly brown, then add the ground meat. When the meat is well browned, salt and deglaze with the white wine.

  • When the wine has evaporated, add the tomato sauce. Cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • In a pot with plenty of salted water, cook the tortellini. Follow the exact times on the packaging.

  • Drain the tortellini and place them in a bowl. Dress the tortellini with the ragù. (Set aside some ragù).

  • Also add the béchamel sauce, Parmesan, and mozzarella (leave some aside). Mix everything well with a wooden spoon.

  • Line a baking dish with parchment paper and fill it with the tortellini.

  • On the surface, add the ragù and mozzarella kept aside.

  • If using the air fryer, cook at 392°F for about 15 minutes. Please check the cooking times according to your air fryer. If you want to take a look at an air fryer similar to mine, click here.

  • If using a traditional oven, bake in a hot, static oven at 356°F. Cook for about 20/25 minutes. Please check the cooking times according to your oven.

  • Take out from the oven and serve.
