The ingredients needed are few, and in no time you’ll be able to prepare a delicious treat that the whole family will enjoy. They are perfect for breakfast and snack time.

The batter contains cream, which makes the muffins truly soft. You can use either an electric mixer or a hand whisk to prepare them.

To make them even more indulgent, besides the dark chocolate heart, I added plenty of chocolate chips on the surface of the muffins.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 120 g sugar
  • 1/2 cup sunflower oil
  • 1/2 cup fresh whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • to taste dark chocolate
  • to taste chocolate chips

  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Mixer
  • 1 Muffin Pan
  • 6 Baking Cups
  • 1 Spoon

How to Prepare the Muffins with Melting Heart

  • In a bowl, place the egg and sugar. Mix with the electric mixer.

  • Add the oil and cream. Mix everything well.

  • Finally, add the flour and baking powder. Mix until you get a homogeneous batter.

  • Take a muffin pan and place the paper baking cups inside it. Use a spoon to pour the batter into each cup, filling them 2/3 full.

  • Place a square of dark chocolate in the center of each muffin and gently press it down a bit with your hands.

  • Add the chocolate chips and bake in a preheated oven at 356°F (180°C). Let them bake for about 20/25 minutes. Be sure to check the baking time based on your oven.

  • Remove from the oven, let them cool, and if you like, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

  • Enjoy.

Storage

The muffins with a melting heart can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container or under a glass dome for 2-3 days.
