Poured Pear and Chocolate Cake

Poured pear and chocolate cake. A simple and quick cake to prepare. Perfect to serve as a dessert at the end of a meal.

The poured pear and chocolate cake is a soft cake, simple and quick to prepare. As I mentioned, it is perfect to serve as a dessert at the end of a meal, but it is also suitable for breakfast or a snack.

Thanks to the procedure involving double baking, the filling doesn’t sink to the bottom of the cake but stays in the center.

The preparation is very simple. First, you need to prepare the cake batter with eggs, sugar, oil, milk, flour, and baking powder. Then pour half of the batter into a mold and straight into the oven. In the meantime, prepare the filling. I used a spreadable cheese like Philadelphia, sugar, pears, and chocolate. After the first baking, add the filling to the cake, the remaining batter, and back into the oven.

See? It’s very simple to prepare.

But let’s see right away how to prepare the Poured pear and chocolate cake.

How to prepare the poured pear and chocolate cake

  • In a bowl, place the eggs and sugar. Mix with the electric mixer until you obtain a puffy and frothy mixture.

  • Add the milk and oil. Mix.

  • Finally, add the flour and baking powder. Mix everything well, being careful not to create lumps.

  • Pour half of the batter into a pre-greased and floured 20 cm pan. Bake in a pre-heated, static oven at 350°F and let it cook for about 12/15 minutes. Please check the cooking times based on your oven. In the meantime, prepare the filling.

  • Remove from the oven, add the filling to the pan, and level it. Cover with the remaining batter and bake for another 20/25 minutes. Always do the toothpick test.

  • Remove from the oven and let it cool. Store in the refrigerator for at least two hours before serving. If you prepare it the day before, it will be even better.

  • Before serving, if you like, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
