Puff Pastry Cake with Jam and Apples

Puff Pastry Cake with Jam and Apples. A delicious, simple, and quick cake to prepare.

The puff pastry cake with jam and apples is a very simple cake to prepare. You need to unroll a sheet of puff pastry and divide it into wedges. Each wedge will be filled with jam and caramelized apples. Then just cover everything with another sheet of puff pastry, and your cake will be ready to go into the oven.

As for the jam, you can use any flavor you prefer.

It is a perfect cake for breakfast, snack, or to serve as a dessert at the end of a meal.

As I mentioned, the preparation is very simple, but for any doubts, you’ll also find the video recipe below.

How to Prepare the Puff Pastry Cake with Jam and Apples

  • Peel the apples and cut them into cubes.

  • In a bowl, add the apples, butter, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon to your taste. Mix with a spoon, then transfer everything into a non-stick pan.

  • Move to the stove and let the apples cook on low heat for about 5 minutes or until the apple is soft. Stir continuously.

  • Unroll a sheet of puff pastry and place it on a baking tray. Leave the parchment paper that comes with the pastry underneath.

  • Divide the sheet into 8 wedges.

  • On each wedge, add a teaspoon of jam and some caramelized apples. (Leave the edges of the wedges free).

  • Cover everything with a second puff pastry disc. Using your hands, seal the edges, then try to shape the filling with your hands. Cut the puff pastry again into 8 wedges.

  • Brush the surface of the pastry with a beaten egg yolk.

  • Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F (180°C). Cook for about 20 minutes. Please check the cooking times based on your oven. The pastry should be golden and crispy.

  • Remove from oven, dust with powdered sugar, and serve yourself.

Storage

I recommend consuming the puff pastry cake with jam and apples on the same day, as the next day the pastry slightly loses its crispiness.
