How to Prepare Quick Puff Pastry Snacks

  • Unroll the puff pastry, leaving the parchment paper provided with the pastry underneath.

  • Spread the surface with cream cheese. I used Philadelphia.

  • Cover with another roll of puff pastry.

  • Using a pizza cutter, cut the pastry into squares by making vertical and horizontal strips. You can choose the size.

  • Use a teaspoon or your fingertips to press in the center of each square, forming an indentation. Then prick the indentation with the tines of a fork.

  • Brush the entire surface of the pastry with a beaten egg.

  • Fill the squares by placing chosen ingredients inside the indentation. I used mushrooms, ham, cheese, olives. I didn’t list the ingredients above because you can really use whatever you prefer.

  • Place everything on a baking sheet and bake in a hot, static oven at 392°F (200°C) for about 20 minutes, or until they are nicely golden.

  • Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
