How to Prepare the Savory Pie with Mushrooms and Mortadella
In a bowl, place the eggs, bechamel, Parmesan, and salt. Mix with a spoon.
Add the milk and mix.
Also add the mushrooms and mix. Set aside for a moment.
Place a roll of puff pastry into a 10-inch tart pan. Keep the parchment paper supplied with the puff pastry underneath.
Prick the puff pastry with the tines of a fork.
Cover the entire base of the puff pastry with slices of mortadella.
Take the filling set aside, add one or two slices of chopped mortadella. Mix and pour everything into the pan. Level it out.
Fold the edges of the puff pastry inward and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F. Let it cook for about 30 minutes or until the savory pie is golden and crispy.
Remove from the oven and serve.
Storage
The savory pie with mushrooms and mortadella keeps well in the refrigerator, covered with plastic wrap for 2 days. It is also excellent slightly reheated in the oven or at room temperature. I do not recommend freezing it once cooked as the puff pastry may lose its crispiness.
