Savory pie with stracchino and mortadella. A delicious recipe, simple and quick to prepare. Perfect to serve as an appetizer, aperitif, or during a buffet dinner.
The savory pie with stracchino and mortadella is prepared in a few minutes with few ingredients. Although the savory pie dough is homemade, there is no rising time required.
To fill my savory pie I used mortadella, but you can use any cold cuts you prefer. Prosciutto crudo and salami will give the pie a stronger and tastier flavor. If you prefer a milder taste, you can use cooked ham or turkey breast slices.
You can also choose any cheese you like.

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 5 oz water
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tsp instant yeast for savory preparations
- 3.5 oz mortadella
- 3.5 oz stracchino
- as needed extra virgin olive oil

- 1 Baking pan
- 1 Rolling pin
How to prepare the savory pie with stracchino and mortadella
Place all the ingredients in a bowl. Start mixing with the spoon, then continue kneading by hand on a lightly floured surface until you obtain a compact and homogeneous dough.
Divide the dough into two equal parts. Roll out each part with the rolling pin on a floured sheet of parchment paper.
Place the first dough disk on a 12-inch baking pan lined with parchment paper. Prick the dough with the tines of a fork.
Fill according to your tastes. I covered the pie base with slices of mortadella and added small scoops of stracchino. Then I added a drizzle of oil.
Cover with the second dough disk and seal the edges well. Prick the surface of the pie with the tines of a fork and add a drizzle of oil.
Bake in a preheated static oven at 356 degrees Fahrenheit. Let it cook for about 30 minutes. Please check the cooking times based on your oven.
Remove from the oven and serve. The savory pie with mortadella and stracchino is good both hot and cold.
