There’s nothing better than the smell of a freshly baked cake filling the kitchen. Today I’m sharing a very simple recipe: the milk and honey cake.

Without refined sugar and with the lightness of seed oil, this dessert will win you over with its spongy texture and the delicate aftertaste of honey. It’s a cake perfect for dipping in milk or enjoying with a cup of tea.

For those with a sweet tooth, I recommend adding some chocolate shavings before baking.

It is prepared in 10 minutes and only dirties one bowl. Be sure to try it!

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 5 oz honey
  • 7 tbsps sunflower seed oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 0.7 oz chocolate (shavings, optional)

How to Prepare the Soft Cake with Milk and Honey

  • In a large bowl, break the eggs and add the honey. Mix vigorously with an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth.

  • Pour in the oil and milk. Continue mixing to blend all the liquid ingredients well.

  • Add the flour and baking powder. Mix until you have a smooth and lump-free batter.

  • Pour the batter into a 9.5-inch cake ring mold that has been previously buttered and floured.

  • If you like, sprinkle a handful of chocolate shavings on the surface.

  • Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F and cook for about 30 minutes. Be sure to do the toothpick test to check if it’s cooked.

  • Remove from the oven, let it cool, and serve yourself.

Storage

The milk and honey cake stays soft for 3 days under a glass dome or wrapped in plastic wrap.
