Forget the scale and precise measurements: for this cake you measure everything with a simple spoon. This method makes it perfect for beginners or when you have little time, but don’t want to miss out on something sweet.

The batter is very soft, delicious thanks to the cocoa and chocolate shavings, and moistened by the chunks of ripe pear. The result is a soft cake that melts in your mouth, perfect for breakfast, snack, or as a dessert after a meal.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 10 tablespoons sugar
  • 10 tablespoons milk
  • 10 tablespoons sunflower oil

How to Make Spoon Cake with Pears and Chocolate

  • In a bowl, add the eggs and sugar. Mix with the electric mixer.

  • Add the milk and oil. Mix with the electric mixer.

  • Add the flour and baking powder. Mix well, being careful not to create lumps.

  • Add the cocoa and incorporate it with a spatula.

  • Add the chocolate shavings and diced ripe pears. Mix with the spatula.

  • Pour the mixture into a 9.5-inch pan, previously buttered and floured.

  • Bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F and let cook for about 30 minutes. Make sure to check the cooking time based on your oven.

  • Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, and if desired, dust with powdered sugar.
