Ingredients
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp acacia honey
- 1/2 vanilla bean
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 pinch fine salt
- 1/3 cup 75% dark chocolate (or chocolate chips)

Steps
Pour the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and softened butter into the bowl. Work with the whisk, add the egg and continue beating.
Add the sifted cocoa, baking soda and mix with the whisk at low speed. Add the also sifted flour, salt, and mix using the spatula. Finally, add the coarsely chopped chocolate with a knife or put the chocolate chips and mix. Turn on the fan oven to 329 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cover the baking tray with parchment paper and use a teaspoon to make walnut-sized mounds, well spaced as they will flatten while baking. You will need 2 baking trays and once ready let them rest in the fridge for 10 minutes. After resting, bake in the middle of the oven for 15 minutes. Once ready, serve the American Cookies with tea or coffee.
Advice
You can vary the recipe by adding white chocolate, coconut, pecans, or dried fruit, in short, they are great in every way!
