The Caramelized Pears in Red Wine are a pleasant dessert to sweetly conclude a dinner. The spices and red wine leave a pleasant taste on the palate. They can be served accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of lightly sweetened whipped cream. If you want to prepare them in advance, you can keep them in the fridge and reheat them when needed. Try making them with me!

Steps
Wash the pears well and peel them. Arrange them in a not too wide saucepan with high sides so that they can be covered halfway with the liquid. Pour in the sugar and red wine.
Add the whole lemon peel (if whole, it will be easier to remove at the end), cloves, cinnamon, and water. Place the saucepan over medium heat, cover with the lid, and bring to a boil.
Gently turn them occasionally and after 1 hour turn off the heat. Remove the pears from the saucepan and discard the lemon peel and cloves. Put it back on the heat and reduce the sauce a little more and with a spoon, pour over the pears. Serve the caramelized pears warm.
