Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 2 eggs (whole)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest (grated)
  • 1 pinch fine salt
  • 2 Golden apples
  • 3.5 oz white chocolate
  • 3.5 oz 70% dark chocolate

Steps

Preheat the oven to 347 °F

  • Pour the sifted flour and baking powder into a bowl and add the diced butter. Work with your hands to make the dough sandy. Add the sugar, salt, the pulp of the vanilla bean, mix and pour in the eggs. Combine with your hands leaving the dough coarse. Line the baking pan with parchment paper and make a base of crumbs.

  • Cut the apples into pieces and make a layer, add the pieces of white and dark chocolate and cover with the remaining dough. Bake and cook for 30 minutes, then turn off and leave the door ajar for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and once cool, cut into squares. If desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
