Ingredients
- 3 potatoes
- 1 carrot
- 1/3 cup peas
- 3/4 cup green beans
- 3/4 cup pickled vegetables (in vinegar)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 tsp fine salt
- 6 slices cooked ham
- 1 cube gelatin
Tools
- Kitchen Scale
- Bowl
- Cutting Board
- Loaf Pan
- Cling Film
Steps
Boil the potatoes, peel them, mash them with a potato masher, and cut one into cubes. Cook carrot and green beans and dice them. Pour peas (I used canned ones from a good brand), carrots, green beans, and chopped pickled vegetables, which I rinse well to remove the strong vinegar taste, into a bowl.
Add the mashed potatoes to the mixture and a pinch of salt. Mix well and add the mayonnaise that we prepared in advance and stored in the fridge. Lay the slices of cooked ham on the cutting board, trim the edges, and if they are too large, cut them in half, place a few spoons of Russian salad in the middle, and roll up trying not to break the slices. Place all the rolls neatly aligned in a loaf pan lined with cling film to facilitate removal.
Prepare the gelatin following the instructions on the package and let it cool. Once it has warmed, pour it over the Russian salad rolls. The level should be a finger above and around. Place in the fridge and serve when everything is very cold.
Storage
The Russian Salad Rolls should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 2-3 days
Can the gelatin be removed from the recipe?
Yes, if you don’t like it, you can serve the rolls naturally.
