An incredibly easy second course to make, complete and tasty… beef strips with broccoli, flavorful and quick to prepare. The meat is left to marinate for a few minutes with soy sauce, oil, and ginger, then cooked in a pan with the broccoli florets. A very appetizing recipe, reminiscent of Chinese beef with broccoli but in a simpler version, with ingredients we all have at home. Try this dish, it’s ready in no time and perfect for dinner!

Ingredients
- 9.5 oz beef slices (or veal)
- 1 broccoli
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 pinch ginger
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 pinch chili pepper (to taste)
- sesame seeds
- vegetable oil
- salt
Tools
- Pan or wok
- Bowl
- Cutting Board
Preparation
Cut the beef into strips and place them in a bowl. Add the soy sauce, a drizzle of vegetable oil, a pinch of ginger, a level teaspoon of cornstarch, and mix.
If desired, you can also add other spices, like curry, or garlic powder.
Let the meat marinate for 10-20 minutes (1), while you prepare the broccoli.
Clean the broccoli by separating the florets, rinse well and drain.
Heat a large pan (or wok) with a drizzle of oil, a clove of garlic, and a pinch of chili pepper.
Add the broccoli florets (2), salt, and cook over medium heat until tender. If necessary, add a splash of hot water to the pan.
Now add the beef strips (3), increase the heat and cook for a few minutes, stirring with a wooden spoon. Towards the end of cooking, sprinkle with a handful of sesame seeds. If the meat seems bland, you can add salt or soy sauce.
Beef strips with broccoli are ready to be served… enjoy your meal!
Advice and Notes
You can use beef or veal.
I recommend cooking the broccoli directly in the pan, without boiling it first, so it remains more firm.
You can customize the meat marinade as you like, adding spices or herbs.
I used peanut oil, but if you have it, you can use sesame oil.
