Notes and Variations
If you don’t have friselle, you can use simple slices of bread, toasted on a hot plate or grill.
Instead of stracciatella, burrata, squacquerone, stracchino, or another creamy fresh cheese works just fine.
You can add capers, onion rings, or peppers in oil.
I recommend preparing the friselle at the moment and serving them immediately to maintain the right consistency.
