Ingredients

  • 5.6 oz pasta
  • 5.6 oz canned tuna
  • 1.4 oz bread (sliced, rustic or other)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp capers
  • 1 tbsp Taggiasca olives (or black olives)
  • chili pepper (to taste)
  • parsley
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation

  • Chop a slice of bread (rustic, sandwich bread, or other) in a food processor with a bunch of parsley and a tablespoon of capers.

    Transfer the mixture to a non-stick frying pan, add a drizzle of oil and toast for a few minutes.

  • Remove the mixture from the pan and set aside.

    In the same pan, sauté a clove of garlic with a dash of oil and a pinch of chili pepper to taste.

    Add the tuna, after draining the excess oil, and break it into pieces with a spoon.

  • Let it flavor for 2-3 minutes, then add the olives.

    Cook the pasta in salted boiling water, drain it slightly al dente, and pour it into the pan with the tuna.

  • Add about half of the breadcrumbs and mix over medium heat for a few seconds.

    Turn off the stove and distribute the pasta on plates, sprinkle the remaining bread crumbs on top, and serve.

Tips and Notes

You can use any bread you prefer, even leftover from the day before. If you don’t have any other option, you can use ready-made breadcrumbs.

You can add a touch of flavor with grated lemon zest. You can add a couple of fillets of anchovies in oil to the tuna.
