Notes and Variants
You can enrich the Russian salad with pickles, pitted olives, or hard-boiled eggs. You can use ready-made mayonnaise or homemade.
You can also use round puff pastry; in this case, cut out discs with a cookie cutter.
You can prepare in advance both the baskets and the Russian salad, but I recommend filling them only at the time of serving, so the pastry remains crispy.
