Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
- 2.8 oz tuna in oil
- 2 tbsp olive pâté
- Taggiasca olives (or green)
Tools
- Baking tray
- Bowl
- Pizza cutter
Preparation
Drain the tuna well, then pat it with paper towels to remove the excess oil.
Crumble it with a fork and place it in a bowl. Add a tablespoon of olive pâté and mix.
Unroll the puff pastry on your work surface and divide it into two parts, without cutting it.
Spread half of the pastry with a spoonful of olive pâté, then distribute the tuna filling you’ve just prepared (1).
Close with the other half of the puff pastry and press lightly.
With a pizza cutter (or a knife) divide into 8 equal strips.
Twist the strips trying not to let the filling come out, then add the whole pitted olives (2) to the ends of the breadsticks, pressing them well into the pastry.
Place the breadsticks on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, spacing them out.
Put everything in a fan oven at 356-365°F and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is dry and golden.
Your puff pastry breadsticks with tuna and olives are ready, perfect to accompany an aperitif!
Tips and Variations
You can use black or green olive pâté. The addition of whole olives is optional.
Dry the tuna very well from excess oil, otherwise the pastry will be too greasy and heavy.
If you like, you can brush the breadsticks with beaten egg and sprinkle them with sesame seeds.
