Tips and Variations
For the filling, you can use cream cheese, robiola, ricotta, or stracchino.
Do not add salt or pepper, as the sausage is already very flavorful on its own.
You can omit sesame seeds if you don’t have them, or replace them with poppy seeds.
The rest in the freezer is necessary to cut the snacks easily and precisely. If it’s more convenient for you, you can prepare the rolls the night before, then just leave them for a few minutes at room temperature before slicing.
