You can use hot-smoked salmon (as I chose), canned salmon, sliced smoked salmon, or fresh salmon lightly cooked in a pan.
You can flavor the mixture with your choice of aromatic herbs.
If you don’t want to turn on the oven, you can cook the meatballs in a pan with a splash of oil, or in an air fryer.
