Ingredients
- 14 oz shrimp
- 1 broccoli
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- sesame seeds
- lemon zest (to taste)
- extra virgin olive oil (or seed oil)
- salt
Tools
- Pan or wok
- Cutting board
Preparation
Peel the shrimp and remove the black vein. Wash them in cold water and dry them with kitchen paper. If you have whole fresh shrimp, you can leave the head on or remove it and use it for other preparations.
Clean the broccoli by separating the florets with a small knife, then wash it under running water.
Heat a pan (or a wok) with a drizzle of oil and a clove of garlic. Add the florets, salt them, and cook over medium heat until tender (1). If necessary, moisten the bottom with a little water or vegetable broth to aid cooking.
Add the shrimp, increase the heat a bit, and cook for a few minutes, adding the soy sauce, a handful of sesame seeds, and a grating of lemon, to taste (2).
Shrimp and broccoli stir-fry is ready, tasty and light, serve it hot as a main dish.
Tips and Notes
You can replace green broccoli with Romanesco cauliflower, cooking it the same way.
If you don’t have fresh shrimp, medium-sized defrosted ones are fine too.
Be careful not to overdo the salt since there’s already soy sauce.
If you like, you can add a pinch of chili pepper.
