Ingredients
- 8.8 oz mascarpone
- 1 1/4 cups ladyfingers
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp espresso coffee (unsweetened)
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
Tools
- Bowl
- Mixer
- Tray
- Coffee Machine
Preparation
Break the ladyfingers into pieces, put them in a mixer and grind them very finely, until powdered.
Transfer them to a bowl, add the powdered sugar and the mascarpone.
Prepare a cup of strong espresso coffee (about 2 tbsp), let it cool and pour it over the other ingredients.
Mix everything with a spoon, until you obtain a homogeneous and soft mixture, but still manageable with your hands.
Now form balls weighing about 15 g each by rolling them between the palms of your hands.
Place them on a baking paper-lined tray (so they don’t stick) and let them rest in the refrigerator for an hour or two (1).
Once cooled and firm, roll the balls in cocoa, so they are completely covered (2). I recommend doing this shortly before serving the truffles, so the cocoa doesn’t absorb too much moisture and become too dark.
Your tiramisu truffles are ready to be served, perfect as a delicious dessert!
They keep in the refrigerator for a couple of days, in a closed container.
Tips and notes
You can increase or decrease the amount of sugar to your taste.
You can replace some of the ladyfingers with other types of dry cookies.
The refrigerator step is not essential, but I recommend it as it makes the cocoa coating easier.
If you want to fill the truffles, add half a teaspoon of Nutella in the center while forming the balls.
