Steps to Prepare Baked Pasta with Broccoli
Put a large pot filled 2/3 with water on the stove and bring to a boil.
Meanwhile, clean the broccoli, cut into florets, peel the tender stems, and chop finely. Wash.
Cook the broccoli until al dente in the boiling water. Lift them out with a skimmer as soon as they are ready.
In the same cooking water as the broccoli, cook the pasta until al dente. Add salt, and drain as soon as it is ready, saving the cooking water.
In a large pan, put a little olive oil with a crushed garlic clove. Let it go over low heat, so the oil gets some flavor, then add the ‘nduja, a couple of slices, and a bit of pasta and broccoli cooking water, to melt the ‘nduja without burning it.
Add the broccoli to the pan with the garlic and ‘nduja, let them flavor well, and add a little salt, then add the pasta and mix, adding more cooking water if needed, so it’s not too dry.
Finally, add the provola cheese, I also used a bit of smoked provola since I always have it in my fridge, you can let it melt directly on the stovetop if you don’t want to bake it, otherwise add it with the heat off and pour everything into a baking dish, and bake for 10 minutes in a preheated 350°F oven.
Take it out of the oven and enjoy hot and cheesy our delicious baked pasta with broccoli, ‘nduja, and silana provola.
