Christmas appetizer candles with cheese and salami, a quick and fun idea to bring to the table for the holidays. I made them without skewers because our distracted guests often forget them. I used cheese sticks to make the candles, with a base of crispy bread croutons and spreadable cheese with a slice of good Calabrian salami, and to make the flame a simple cherry tomato or also a pickled onion works well. They can be made in a few minutes and brought straight to the table. So let’s see how to prepare them, I leave you other ideas for Christmas appetizers, also vegetarian and quick.

Steps to Prepare Christmas Candles with Cheese and Salami
Using a cookie cutter of about 1.25 inches in diameter, cut 12 discs from the sandwich bread. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, brush with spray oil or olive oil using a brush, and place under the grill to brown at 392°F (200°C) in the top part of the oven. When they are golden, flip them. Keep an eye on them as it only takes a moment.
Spread cheese on the croutons, then place a slice of salami on top. Secure the candle, the cheese stick, with creamy cheese, and make the flame with cherry tomatoes. Decide whether to use them whole or cut in half or quarters; adhere them with spreadable cheese.
Arrange on a cutting board with arugula at the base and serve.
