The cream fritters are soft fried balls. I scented them with orange. Fritters are a classic of the carnival period, but so good and quick that they can be made really anytime. For a lighter version, they can also be baked, they won’t be fritters, but we can still enjoy delicious, soft cakes, baked, and therefore lighter. I also want to reassure you, because these fritters prepared with a soft dough thanks to the use of sweetened whipping cream, are fabulous, and come out very dry. So every now and then we can treat ourselves to a good tasty fry, then let’s be honest, it’s not like we make fritters every day, and those two times a year that we do, let’s enjoy them in purity without thinking about our figure and health every moment of our life, indulging in a treat is good for the spirit, mood, and even health.

Tools for Cream Fritters

- 1 Tongs
Steps to Prepare Cream Fritters
In a large bowl, grate the zest of an orange, add the sugar, and rub with your fingertips, then add the eggs and whisk with the whisks until you get a fluffy and foamy mixture.
Then add the liqueur, the cream, and whisk again, finally add the flour with the baking powder and work until incorporated.
Fry in plenty of hot oil by spoonfuls and let them brown on all sides. As they cook, they will puff up in the hot oil.
Dry on paper towels as soon as they are ready, cooking in hot oil at about 356°F and continue until the mixture is finished. Leave space in the pan because they swell a lot during cooking, otherwise, there won’t be space to turn them.
Then arrange on a tray, sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy them. Great accompanied with a chocolate sauce, a caramel sauce, or a good custard.
