How to make salami roses to make the appetizer board more elegant. A simple and fast glass method — pick a glass in the preferred size to create roses that are larger or smaller depending on your taste: use a wider glass for bigger roses or a narrower one for slimmer roses. In the video I show in detail how to prepare the little roses; they make the classic board — which can be prepared with cold cuts and cheeses or enriched with preserved oils and vinegars, as well as hot or cold preparations — look more elegant and beautiful. I prepared a simple board just to show you how even a simple board can look pretty and elegant on the table with a small trick: the salami rose. I made a large one using a wide glass, but you can also make smaller ones with narrower glasses.

Preparation steps for salami roses
Let’s prepare our serving board for the appetizer, with cold cuts, cheeses, crostini, tartines and so on; leave space on the board for the salami roses. I left a wide area for a large rose.
Start by placing the first salami slices around the glass, covering the entire circumference with slightly overlapping slices. Fold each slice in half, half outside and half inside the glass, resting it on the rim of the glass. Once the first round is finished, repeat with the second, always slightly overlapping the slices so that each new slice overlaps the end of the previous one, and continue until you have used all the salami slices. If you make smaller roses you’ll need smaller slices, ideally fewer slices and a smaller glass. Always use thinly sliced salami.
Turn the glass upside down onto the board, and as if by magic, when you lift the glass off the board the salami rose will remain — in an instant you’ve created a beautiful salami rose.
Easy, right? Now I look forward to your photos and to seeing your beautiful appetizer boards.
