Quick puff pastry strudel filled with apples, walnuts, raisins, cinnamon, orange marmalade, and amaretti, resulting in a delicious dessert, very simple to prepare with a well-bound filling. I chose golden apples for my strudel, they were already very good raw but I decided to sauté them first in a pan with half a teaspoon of cinnamon. I didn’t cook them too much, just about 3-4 minutes, just enough to soften them a little. I then added all the other ingredients to the apples to prepare the filling and wrapped everything in the ready-made puff pastry, alternatively a good homemade shortcrust, or you can use the puff pastry base I use for croissants. So I would say it’s time to head to the kitchen, the quick puff pastry strudel is waiting for us!

Steps for Preparing Quick Puff Pastry Strudel
Prepare 2 apples, peel them with a peeler, then cut them into 4 wedges, clean them thoroughly, and working on a cutting board, quickly chop them into small cubes, sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
Sauté the apples in a pan with cinnamon, without adding anything else, keep the heat low, and cook for about 5 minutes, or even less, until they are soft. Let them cool in a bowl.
Meanwhile, prepare the chopped walnuts, working on the cutting board, chop them coarsely.
Add the chopped walnuts, raisins, and orange marmalade to the apples, then take the amaretti and crumble them into the apples. I set aside 3 to place directly on the open puff pastry before filling it. Mix well.
Unroll the ready-made puff pastry on the parchment paper it is wrapped in. Place the 3 crumbled amaretti along the length in the center, then distribute the filling over them evenly.
Close the strudel by folding the empty pastry over the filling, first from one side, then from the other. Press well at the seams to seal the puff pastry. Then, with a knife, make parallel cuts on the strudel where the pastry is double.
Brush with a bit of milk and sprinkle with some brown sugar, which sweetens the unsweetened pastry, but if you prefer, just use powdered sugar after baking.
Transfer it to a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake for 30 minutes in a hot static oven at 356°F. Remove from the oven when it’s golden. Let it cool before slicing and enjoying. It’s excellent on its own or accompanied by vanilla ice cream or a soft vanilla cream.
