Steps for Preparing Tuna Sandwich Dome

  • Tuna Sandwich Dome recipe
  • Prepare 3 boiled eggs according to the basic recipe. Cook them for 6 minutes from boiling. Then drain, run under cold water, and peel while still warm.

    how to make hard-boiled eggs
  • Prepare the tuna cream. In a small but not too small bowl, place the eggs and mash them as finely as possible with a fork.

  • Tuna cream

  • Also add the tuna, without draining it. Mix again to obtain a cream as homogeneous as possible.

  • Finally add the mayonnaise, and mix again. On these occasions, I obviously make my delicious and foolproof homemade mayonnaise ready in less than 1 minute.

    Homemade Mayonnaise recipe
  • Wash some lettuce and a few cherry tomatoes and a couple of tomatoes.

  • Start preparing the dome. Line a medium-sized bowl with plastic wrap.

  • Cover the bowl with sandwich bread. Then start filling with the tuna cream, spreading it over the entire base and also on the edges, add slices of thinly sliced tomato. Cover with more bread and fill again as before, alternating lettuce leaves, torn or chopped, with the tomatoes. Continue layering until the bowl is filled, and finally close with bread. Seal with the plastic wrap and press well, let it rest in the fridge for at least an hour.

  • With the leftovers, make decorations. I made tuna sandwich stars with lettuce and cherry tomatoes cut in half. Just cut out stars with a cookie cutter, fill half the stars with tuna cream, then close with other stars, but I removed the central part with a smaller star cookie cutter, and there I decorated with lettuce and cherry tomato. I also used the small stars as decoration.

  • Remove the dome from the bowl, using the plastic wrap to easily extract it, and turn it over onto a serving plate.

  • Decorate as seen in the photo, attaching the stars with a toothpick, or tuna cream where they are lighter and can hold with just the cream. Of course, you can also simply decorate with more tuna cream and maybe cherry tomatoes.

  • Keep in the fridge until ready to serve our savory dome with tuna cream.

It can be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge for a couple of days.

An excellent variation also with smoked salmon, perhaps with a delicious cream made from spreadable cheese or ricotta and finely chopped salmon.
