Cheese Balls are fried or baked bites, simple and quick to make. Ideal for serving as finger food or a main course, these balls will be appreciated by both adults and children. As a cheese lover, I created this recipe by combining ricotta, spreadable cheese, grated Parmesan, and a sprinkle of chopped oregano, resulting in crispy balls with a soft and tasty filling. These cheese balls are like cherries; you can’t stop at just one!

- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Economical
- Rest time: 30 Minutes
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 15 balls
Ingredients
- 3.5 oz ricotta
- 3.5 oz spreadable cream cheese
- 2 tbsps grated Parmesan
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 2 eggs
- 1 pinch salt
- as needed all-purpose flour
- as needed breadcrumbs
Steps
To make the cheese balls, combine the ricotta, spreadable cheese, and grated Parmesan in a bowl.
Using a spoon, mix the ingredients well and add a teaspoon of chopped oregano. You should get a homogeneous and soft mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest in the fridge for twenty minutes.
Remove the cheese mixture from the refrigerator and form walnut-sized balls with your hands and place them back in the fridge for 10 minutes.
In a small bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt, put the breadcrumbs on one plate, and the flour on another.
Roll each ball first in the flour, then in the beaten eggs, and then in the breadcrumbs. Repeat the process in the eggs and breadcrumbs to get a thicker breading that will prevent the cheese from oozing out during cooking.
Bake the balls in a preheated oven at 392°F (200°C) for 15 minutes until golden. Alternatively, fry them in hot oil. Serve warm and enjoy your meal!
