Chestnut Chocolates

The chestnut chocolates are tasty treats, perfect for serving to friends and family at the end of a meal. I love making chocolates, so I decided to boil the chestnuts and cover them with dark chocolate. A cute and fun idea to try if you have a chestnut roasting party with friends planned. These chocolates pair well with a small glass of mulled wine. Happy St. Martin’s Day!

Chestnut Chocolates
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Rest time: 2 Hours
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 10 Pieces
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop

Ingredients

  • 10 chestnuts
  • 3.5 oz dark chocolate

Preparation

  • To make the chestnut chocolates, use a knife to remove the chestnuts’ shells. Place the chestnuts in a saucepan with plenty of water and boil them.

  • Boil for about ten minutes. To check if they are cooked, I used a toothpick, piercing a chestnut to feel the softness when it’s ready.

  • Drain the chestnuts, remove the skin, and let them cool.

  • Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave.

  • Dip the chestnuts in the melted chocolate, then place them on a tray lined with parchment paper. Put them in the fridge for a couple of hours. Enjoy!
